Drum/Percussion Teacher
Job Overview
We are seeking a drum and percussion teacher to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. You will develop lesson plans and tailor instruction to meet individual student needs. Duties

Design and implement drum and percussion curriculum to accommodate various skill levels, from beginner to advanced.

Incorporate supplementary activities such as music theory, improvisation, and performance preparation to enhance student learning experiences.

Track student progress through assessments, provide constructive feedback, and adjust lesson plans accordingly.

Collaborate with parents, guardians, or caregivers to communicate student achievements and areas for improvement.
Qualifications

Must possess a degree in music or proven experience in teaching drum and percussion with a good background in curriculum development and lesson planning.

Must read notation and teach rudiments.

Snare drum emphasis with set drumming preferred.

Mallet percussion preferred but not required.

Ability to engage students of various ages and backgrounds.

Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and special education accommodations is a plus.

Good communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.

Familiarity with Zoom is a plus for students interested in virtual lessons.

Must pass a PA background check as required for school employees.

Bachelor's Degree and/or teaching experience required. Prefer a minimum of one year teaching experience. Consideration may be given to individuals with less teaching experience dependent on their flexibility and long-term potential.
