Job Overview
We are seeking a drum and percussion teacher to inspire students of all ages and skill levels. You will develop lesson plans and tailor instruction to meet individual student needs. Duties

• Design and implement drum and percussion curriculum to accommodate various skill levels, from beginner to advanced.

• Incorporate supplementary activities such as music theory, improvisation, and performance preparation to enhance student learning experiences.

• Track student progress through assessments, provide constructive feedback, and adjust lesson plans accordingly.

• Collaborate with parents, guardians, or caregivers to communicate student achievements and areas for improvement.

 

Qualifications

• Must possess a degree in music or proven experience in teaching drum and percussion with a good background in curriculum development and lesson planning.

• Must read notation and teach rudiments.

• Snare drum emphasis with set drumming preferred.

• Mallet percussion preferred but not required.

• Ability to engage students of various ages and backgrounds.

• Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and special education accommodations is a plus.

• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Familiarity with Zoom is a plus for students interested in virtual lessons.

• Must pass a PA background check as required for school employees.

• Bachelor's Degree and/or teaching experience required. Prefer a minimum of one year teaching experience. Consideration may be given to individuals with less teaching experience dependent on their flexibility and long-term potential.
